Spot on! I enjoy the holiday music on radio, but one gets sick of the same songs played over and over and over again. If I ever hear "Where is Christmas" again, I will poke out both eardrums with sharpened pencils.

I had hoped the merger of XM and Sirius (merger! Ha!) would result in a larger library of Holiday music. However, the "Holly" offering this year was much the same as any "Lite FM" playlist. Dreadful.

I couldn't bear to hear the one about the little boy buying shoes for his dying mother one more time! I'm sure a pair of shoes is just what she wanted.

I have programmed the non stop Christmas music on several stations. Only one station over the years received a ratings bump and it was a slight ratings bump. This long form on air stunt has run its course. It was cute when only one station in the market aired Christmas tunes 24/7.

I actually love the christmas shoes song...perhaps i use/hear radio differently now that I'm on the interactive side..not programming. As a listener, I love the Christmas stations...As a programmer, I thought they were uncool - unhip....perhaps all that reveals is that I'm just that, uncool, unhip :)

Speaking as both a radio guy and a listener, my favorite Xmas songs are the demented ones, like on Rhino's "Bummed Out Christmas" CD, or Weird Al's "Christmas At Ground Zero." Or on the more sentimental side, something like Johnny Cash's "Christmas As I Remember It;" At least it's something different.

Christmas music was a little weak on the selection/variety side in my town this year (Ocala, FL) in addition to the fact that some stations went all Christmas on Thanksgiving Day. Too much, too soon
