IF YOU MISSED THE "STATION IMAGING" SEMINAR...
It's amazing how many people want to join the Radio Station Imaging Secrets teleseminar after it's already concluded.
(You can check out the "reviews" in the posting beneath this one — the one entitled "STATION IMAGING TELESEMINAR: HOW WAS IT?")
If you missed the teleseminar, I've come up with an idea I think you'll like.
I've decided to offer the mp3 recording of the entire Ask Dave Foxx/Radio Station Imaging Secrets teleseminar... for one week.
You can download it right now, with the understanding that:
* You'll be paying a couple of bucks more than the 245 people who joined in on the live call. (As part of their registration fee, they also received the mp3 recording afterward). The people who are excited enough and act quickly enough to register for an event like this get the best deal, always.
* You will receive the surprise bonus we announced midway through the teleseminar.
* After about a week, I'll remove the offer from the website. Some months from now, I might add it to our regular catalogue — but it definitely will be at a higher price and it will not include the surprise bonus.
Fair enough?
Oh — If you go there now, you'll see a complete listing of the major questions that were addressed.

What's the big surprise bonus?
No, see, if I tell what the surprise bonus is, quite possibly it might no longer be a surprise.
But I can tell you it's a neat thing for imaging producers to have.
Actually, it falls within my definition of a great radio "guerilla" prize: Something few people would pay for but lots of people would stand in line to get for free.
Hi Dan. I had subscribed for the call but it was on quite late Irish time so I said i would download it and listen to it on the weekend. I duly did this on Friday and as I drove across the country on Saturday afternoon to do something "non radio" - surfing - imagine no radio station in the Atlantic Ocean or Blackberry:-) As I listened i found myself nodding in agreement with a lot of what Dave had to say. As the call went on I picked up some tips, learned some stuff about compression and also and perhaps most importantly how to "switch off" when I go home - which is one reason why I took up surfing a few weeks ago. Well done guys - informative, entertaining - not too long - and ONLY 20 BUCKS!!!! Let's have the next one soon. Dave - you're an imaging legend - I salute you sir.

Shane -- Thanks very much for the encouragement. I love the idea of people listening to any of my audio seminars while driving. Whenever I need to drive somewhere, I go through a mental checklist:
Keys?
Address?
Cell phone?
CD(s) I can learn from while driving?
And it's a bonus for me that you were doing that listening-while-driving in Ireland. That's the only English-speaking country in which I've never conducted a seminar.
Finally, I'm encouraged by the "ONLY 20 BUCKS!!!!" remark. After conducting so many teleseminars that were absolutely free, I had braced myself for accusations of being a greedy sod who's in it only for the money.
For a teleseminar like Radio Station Imaging Secrets Revealed, it looks like I need to charge $29 (instead of $20) to help defray my hard costs and also for the immense amount of prep time required.
I have only two concerns about charging $29:
1. Will radio people pay $29 for that type of content-rich call?
2. I'm not sure I can find a picture of a $29 bill for the registration page. (I loved the way that $20 bill looked!)
Hey Dan!!!!
I have a thought about the future of Seminars.
What if you started offering WEBCASTS for those of us who can't make it to them in person? Think of it like taking College Courses on-line. It could be a whole new venture. I'd love to know what the rest of the blogger's here think.

Can you describe what you see such a webcast as being like, from the user's (your) point of view?
Do you mean:
* Listening in via the Internet, without requiring a telephone to call in with?
* Listening in online later? (Obviously, that IS part of what you mean.)
At the moment, "webinars" don't hold much appeal for me because they require attendees to be online. Plus, so far I don't need to display visuals.
Are you suggesting a model wherein if a person pays to register, they get a password to enter a secure site and listen to the seminar at their leisure?
Or...?
I'd be very interested to hear what you and our other readers would find valuable (keeping in mind that there'd be some kind of charge involved).
Thanks
The "germ" of the idea came from the latest Dave Foxx CD (available at Danoday.com)
YES!!! That's a plug :)
The Anatomy of a Station Promo you describe that the attendees could watch as Dave put the promo together. I though that would have been an excellent seminar for Talent to log on the web and watch the creation.
There wouldn't be a phone number for these and you would be able to have more atendees "on line". Radio Pros would pay a fee for each "Seminar" (class) they wanted to participate in and then log in with a username/password at the appropriate time.
Just like the Foxx teleseminar you could pool questions from the "virutal attendees" and pick some of the most asked questions.

So...Would we videotape Dave putting together an entire promo, narrating it as he does so...Edit out the slow parts...And have me ask Dave the attendees' questions before and after the video?
It would be a "live" event with Dave's demonstration prerecorded?
I know this is a little late for comments on the seminar but I think it was very helpful; from filling the well to the technical. I've been trying to get that "full" sound and your talk of compression is something I've used for the last couple years, however I just haven't found that "sweet spot" yet. All in all, the call was good to listen to and I hope my PD subscribes to any future seminars you hold as I'm sure they will prove to be just as good/informative. The thing that floored me was the amount that would be done in a day; 3 - 8 pieces per day seems like such a small number so I'm guessing that
would be in the slower seasons?
